A4 Hammersmith Flyover: Man, 22, fighting for his life after serious collision

A 22-year-old man has been been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision in the early hours of the morning (May 29) involving a pedestrian and a car in West London.

Extensive road closures were put in place after the incident occurred at around 12.30 am on The A4 Hammersmith Flyover. Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance Service all attended the scene. The road remained closed overnight in both directions but has since re-opened.

The family of the 22-year-old man who is now battling for his life have been informed. The car involved in the collision stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson for the Met told MyLondon: “Police were called at 00:20hrs on Sunday, 29 May to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on the Hammersmith Flyover. Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance Service all attended.

“A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His family is aware. The car stopped at the scene. No arrests. Extensive road closures were put in place as emergency services attended. Roads reopened at approximately 09:30hrs.”
