Police responded around 2 a.m. Thursday to a report of gunshots in the 500-block of Richmond Street, north of Dufferin Avenue, where officers found evidence of gunfire, police said Friday.

Investigators determined a male suspect was involved in a fight inside a downtown business prior to the shooting, police said. Nobody was injured and no damage reported.

Investigators released a photograph of the suspect, who is described as a Black man with a light complexion in his early-20s, with a thin build and cornrow-style braids. He was wearing a black and blue hoodie, dark pants and black shoes.

The incident – the 12th case of gunfire in London this year – marks the fourth time shots have been fired downtown as post-bar crowds spill onto the streets since April 26.

Earlier this week, police responded around 2:30 a.m. Monday to a report of gunfire on Carling Street near Richmond Street, where investigators found evidence of gunfire, police said Wednesday. Nobody was injured and no damage reported.

Police previously said they’re probing possible links in the core shootings, a process that remains ongoing.

Anyone with information about the most recent case of gunfire should contact London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
