Harry Kane makes major Tottenham transfer decision after summer Manchester City links

Tottenham and the fans have been handed a boost ahead of the summer transfer window, with Harry Kane believed to have made a decision over his future in north London. Last summer was swamped with talk of the England captain making a move away from Spurs.

After a failed move to Man City, it was a slow start to the season for the striker, who didn’t score his first Premier League goal until Tottenham’s eighth game of the season. However once Antonio Conte arrived in N17 and the season went on, Kane got back to his best, ending the season with a total of 17 goals and nine assists in the league.

The England captain has continued to grow his on-field relationship with Son Heung-min, with the duo breaking the Premier League record for the most combination goals. The South Korean also went on to share the Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah, after bagging 23 league goals.

Tottenham’s attacking duo were joined by Dejan Kulusevski in January and the Swede has made an immediate impact. The 22-year-old scored five goals and registered eight assists in just 18 league appearances, despite only making his debut in February.

This created a quality front three for Conte and posed a threat to opposing sides. With a whole pre-season with the Italian, the trio are likely to continue developing their relationship on the pitch and could get even better.

This makes Kane’s decision even more of a boost for Spurs as football.london understands that the England captain is excited for the future and isn’t planning to leave Tottenham. This is likely to have been helped by the Lilywhites securing Champions League football for next season.

Conte has heaped praise on his striker, highlighting the good relationship the duo have. “He deserves the best because he is a great worker, a hard worker, this is not normal,” the Italian admitted last month.

“Normally the player that has talent don’t like to work hard. In my career I didn’t have a great talent and for this reason I worked hard.

“What I liked from him from the first time was his availability, he was a big example for his team-mates. When you see him work in this way, for sure you have the desire to work and work very hard. For this reason I want to thank him, he is always a big example for everything and I hope to give him satisfaction,” Conte added.

“I think he is now enjoying playing this type of football and we have to try to continue together. I am seeing many players with great improvement.”

This enjoyment of playing football is likely to have encouraged Kane to stay in north London, which will have also been helped by the 52-year-old’s arrival. Tottenham announced on Tuesday that ENIC have made a £150 million investment, which football.londonunderstands the bulk of which will be used to back Conte this summer.

With money to spend, a world-class manager who is hopefully remaining in N17 and now one of the most key players in the Spurs side believed to want to remain at the club, it could be the start of a great summer for Tottenham.
