Huge emergency services presence swarms to Barking flat fire – RECAP

London Fire Brigade has released a statement

London fire Bridge has released a statement about the incident.

A spokesperson said: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been called to a flat fire on Anchor Close in Barking.

“Half of a four-roomed flat on the second floor of the building is alight. Half of the roof and the loft space of the residential block are also alight.

“The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers have taken 10 calls to the blaze.

“The Brigade was called at 0831. Fire crews from Barking, Plaistow, East Ham, Ilford and Wennington fire stations are at the scene.

“The cause of the fire is not known at this time.”
