EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Proof of Donna Air’s real life Split as from vaping millionaire Gunnar Winbergh

Donna Air has been unlucky in love, so friends were delighted when she started going out with vaping millionaire Gunnar Winbergh, whose vitamin vapes boast ‘inhaling your supplements supports your health’.

The actress, 42, who appeared in hit BBC drama The Split, appears, however to have, well, split, with Winbergh as, I can reveal, she’s now seeing business – man Ashley Smatt, 42.

He was seen tenderly caressing her arm as they dined a deux at a Spanish restaurant in West London.

Smatt then moved in for a kiss. Air used to go out with the Duchess of Cambridge’s brother, James Middleton, and has a daughter with casino and wildlife park owner Damian Aspinall.

My disclosure yesterday that Bruno Tonioli has quit Strictly Come Dancing surprised Dame Arlene Phillips, who was one of his three fellow judges when it started in 2004.

However, the choreographer, 78, does not believe it will leave the hit BBC show damaged.

‘Strictly always carries on fine,’ Phillips, who was sacked in 2009, tells me at the first night of Grease The Musical at The Dominion Theatre in London’s West End. ‘If it can carry on without me, it can carry on without Bruno.

Pop star Holly Valance appears to be secretly pleased that her husband, property tycoon Nick Candy, failed in his bid to buy his beloved Chelsea football club, despite his consortium offering more than £2.5billion.

‘I was very upset when we didn’t get it, but then my wife said: “You can have your life back now,”’ Candy tells me at a 30th anniversary party for Jonathan Shalit’s agency, Intertalent, at Bafta in Piccadilly, London.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever do a bid again for a football club. I might help with other bids, but I wouldn’t be a part of it. ‘I’m a Chelsea fan, so to have owned the club would have been amazing.’

Lee Cain, who stepped down as Boris Johnson’s director of communications in 2020 as vicious infighting erupted in Downing Street, has fallen on his feet.

Advisers, said to include the PM’s wife Carrie, opposed Cain’s promotion to chief of staff, so he quit.

But I can disclose that Cain, who worked closely with Dominic Cummings, made nearly £500,000 after leaving No10.

The first accounts for his new public relations business, Charlesbye Ltd, which counts the Premier League and Lottery operator Camelot among its clients, amassed assets of £479,000 in the 13 months to March, including £268,000 in cash.

After paying a £147,000 tax bill and other creditors, it was still left with almost £300,000.

Dame Emma bared all in her recent film — Good Luck To You, Leo Grande — and Gaia tells me: ‘If it’s professionally prepared, and you‘ve got the right kind of protection around you, then that’s absolutely fine.’

Balmoral has come up with a barking way to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. It’s inviting the owners of 70 corgis to bring their pets to the castle, where they will pose for a picture.

‘We are hoping for some very special visitors,’ a spokesman confirms. ‘Fingers crossed for 70 Pembroke Welsh and Cardigan Welsh Corgis on the front lawn for a wonderful photo.’ Good luck to the photographer!
