A major road in East London is currently closed in both directions due to a serious crash. Police have close Mile End Road, Mile End shortly before 5.30pm this afternoon (Monday, May 16).
The closure is in place at the junction with Bancroft Street, with officers urging people to avoid the area. It’s not known the extent of any injuries, but police have said it’s a “serious injury road collision”.
A spokesperson for Tower Hamlets police said: “Due to a serious injury road collision, we have had to close Mile End Road, near junction with Bancroft Street, BOTH directions. Please avoid area for the foreseeable.”
