Brockwell Park shooting live: Updates as man, 34, rushed to hospital after second Brixton gun attack in 2 days

A man, 34, has been rushed to hospital after a shooting in Brockwell Park this morning. (14 May). Police confirmed he sustained shot gun wounds but that that he was in a non-life threatening condition.

“Police were called to Brockwell Park, Tulse Hill, SW2, at 02.15hrs on Saturday, 14 May, to reports of a shooting,” the Met police said.

“A 34-year-old man was found with shotgun wounds. He was taken to hospital. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.”

No arrests have yet been made. A crime scene has been put in place while enquiries continue.

The council confirmed on Twitter that the park would be shut until at least midday due to the police incident. “Brockwell Park is closed to all public after an incident this morning,” they said in a statement.

Labour Member of Parliament for Dulwich & West Norwood Helen Haynes said on Twitter: “Really concerning to hear that there was a shooting earlier in Brockwell Park. My thoughts are with the victim in hospital,” she said.

The reports have not yet been confirmed by the police. MyLondon has reached out to the Met Police for more information.
