Two men ‘rushed to hospital with stab injuries’ in Croydon were ‘not stabbed’ say Met Police

Two men were rushed to hospital last night after a “disturbance” with “a number of people on mopeds” in Penge, South London. Another three were arrested for offences including grievous bodily harm and affray, and remain in custody. Police are now looking for witnesses to the incident.

The Met updated their report to stress the victims “were not stabbed” after saying they found them with “stab injuries” around 7:15pm last night (May 3). After London Ambulance Service medics rushed to the scene and took them to hospital they decided neither of the injuries were life threatening.

In a statement, the Met Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information after two people were injured following an altercation in Penge. Officers were called at around 19:15hrs on Tuesday, 3 May following reports of a large group of people, including a number of people on mopeds, causing a disturbance in the vicinity of Penge Road, junction with Kings Road, SE25.

Terrifying videos were shared on social media last night (3 May) after police said they had attended a “double stabbing” on Penge Road, in South Norwood, at 7.14pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 3). Police did not confirm the incidents were related but they appear to have take place in the same area of South Norwood at similar times.

In the first part of the video, bus passengers watched on in horror as a man walks straight out into Penge Road with a knife in his hand, lurching at passing motorbikes and mopeds. Another video then shows people watching on from their doorsteps as what appears to be the same man, wearing the same jeans, now topless, attacked a man in a motorcycle helmet.
