Man stabbed to death in Pinner ‘about to start new life’ says brother

man stabbed to death in north London has been named locally as Jordan Stuart.

The victim’s brother Adam Stuart was at the crime scene in Grove Court in Pinner, north west London on Wednesday.

He described Jordan, 37, as a “lovely bubbly guy” who was about to start work for him.

He said: “He was bubbly and good to know. We lost our mother recently and he was devastated.

“He was getting his life in track though and was due to start work for me in a couple of days. I was looking forward to it, it’s a tragedy. We were brought up around here but I now live in Colchester, he was starting a new life with me. He loved his family.”

He said the family, including all his five brothers and sisters, had been grieving following the death of their mother.“I’ve had to bury my mum and now my brother I’m heartbroken.”

Police were called to Grove Avenue just before 7am on Wednesday and found the victim with stab wounds.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics and the London Air Ambulance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said they were working to inform his next of kin, while a crime scene remains in place.

A man, believed aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of murder after the stabbing and he remains in custody,

Neighbours on Wednesday described how they heard shouting and a “piercing scream” around the time of the stabbing.

Forensics officers were trawling the scene on Wednesday while homicide detectives were carrying out door to door inquiries.

A neighbour said: “There was shouting then a piercing scream. Then police were everywhere. It’s a nightmare.”

Medical equipment lay discarded on the ground next to the spot where paramedics fought to save the man’s life.

Another neighbour said: “I heard arguing but that’s not unusual around here. The next thing in knew there were cops and paramedics everywhere.

“They were trying to save him. It’s a tragedy.”

Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime (Homicide) are leading the investigation.
