BREAKING: Ring doorbell saves the day! – Tara Khan, Croydon High School

11

Ms Green, who lives in Croydon, was on her way on her daily school pick-up, at around 3:30pm. On her journey, Ms Green received a motion alert from her Ring doorbell. This notified her a person was detected at her property, and that her alarm was going off. So, Ms Green, opened the app and saw a “random man at my door, I had never seen him before.”

Alarmed, before Ms Green could take any further action, Ring had the problem under control. Almost immediately, Ms Green, received a phone call from Ring, asking her weather they wanted to notify a local police force. “The ring alarm stopped the break-in before they could get in! My heart was beating so fast and I was so thankful to Ring for building such a well designed system that truly saved my day!”

This is certainly not the only incident of a humble doorbell saving the day, with a plethora of similar incidents occuring and Ring stepping in before things spiral out of control.

With over 1.4 million units sold, Ring certainly is getting the attention it deserves.

“This is one of the simplest ways to protect your home” Ms Green says, “I would urge everyone to invest in one, you can clearly see the difference it can make.”

Despite the fact urban crime including theft fell by almost a third during the pandemic, as the University of Cambridge reports, it still remains an issue, and we must strive to keep our belongings and families safe – for even the most simple measures can be endlessly effective.
