Southwark police incident live: Updates as cyclist rushed to hospital after serious crash with car

A collision in Southwark in South London this evening involving a car and a cyclist.

Police officers and members of the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene on Tower Bridge Road, Southwark, South London at 7.40pm today (April 29).

The cyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital with a head injury. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Metropolitan Police officers have closed Abbey Street and Tower Bridge Road in Southwark, South London.

A witness described seeing a police car on the closed road outside of the blue tape.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.

Police have asked anyone with information to call 101 quoting CAD 6722/29Apr.
