Live Heathrow Airport updates as passengers face two hour-long queues and bank holiday getaway commences

Passengers are reporting queues up to two hours long at Heathrow as Border Force officers struggle to cope with an influx of arrivals. The bank holiday getaway is also ramping up at the West London airport as passengers jet off for the long weekend.

One passenger arriving at Terminal 2, Jenny Ballard, tweeted at about 9am to say: ” @ HeathrowAirport what’s going on? T2 off our flight and being held at the lifts. No information being provided to reason or length of delay.” Another passenger echoed the complaint, after arriving at Terminal 2 saying they have been in the queue for immigration for almost an hour.

Heathrow Airport’s official Twitter account replied to say: “Hi there, we are aware of longer Immigration queues at this time. Border Force is working hard to efficiently process passengers and please be assured that our teams in the terminals are on hand to offer support as we aim to reduce delays. Thank you for your patience.”
