Doctor Who and EastEnders star Ann Davies has tragically died aged 87.

The 87-year-old actress was the beloved wife of late The Good Life star Richard Briers.

She was also a proud mum to ITV Endeavour’s Lucy Briers and daughter Katie.

Ann’s death was sadly confirmed by her agent on Thursday.

Barry Langford tweeted: “Sadly my lovely client of 34 years Ann Davies passed away yesterday.

“A superb actress with TV credits including #DoctorWho and #TheSculptress, Ann was devoted to her beloved late husband #RichardBriers and their daughters Lucy and Kate.

“She will be very much missed. #RIP Annie”.

The talented actress played the role of Jenny in Doctor Who in a series of episodes alongside William Hartnell as the Time Lord.

Following her time on Doctor Who, Ann went on to play Mrs Singleton in Grange Hill in the 1990s.

She also appeared in an episode of Doctors as well as EastEnders.

Ann also starred alongside her husband Richard in a number of TV roles.

The actress starred alongside Richard in films including Peter’s Friends in 1992 and In the Bleak Midwinter in 1995.

The pair also appeared together in the radio adaptation of TV series Brothers in Law.

One Twitter user penned: “I loved Ann in Doctor Who. Now she’s with her husband forever.”

“Britain has lost another leading star,” a third gushed.

“Superstar in a legendary Dr Who adventure, and she’ll never be forgotten by the fans! Those episodes get rewatched a lot in my house,” someone else penned.

And a fifth tweeted: “Ah so sad to read this. Annie was so very kind and welcoming to me when I was a humble understudy working with Richard. Thoughts to the family.”
