Firefighters are currently tackling a fire at a South London home. As many as 60 firefighters are at the scene on Kingston Road, New Malden, where a mid-terraced property is alight.
They first rushed to the scene at around 8.37am with eight fire engines currently in attendance. The blaze has ripped through the home as the ground floor, first floor and roof is on fire.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a house fire on Kingston Road in New Malden. The ground floor, first floor and roof of a mid-terraced house are alight.
“The Brigade was called at 8.37am. Fire crews from New Malden, Surbiton, Kingston, Wimbledon and surrounding fire stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”
