Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal side recorded back-to-back wins at the weekend with a huge victory over Manchester United at the Emirates. Goals from Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka sealed a key three points.
The win saw them leapfrog North London rivals Tottenham into fourth, with their draw against Brentford seeing the tables turn once again. Despite the victory, the manager was keen to stress that things can still change yet again: “My belief is that we are going to give it a real go, we can win football matches but the margins are going to be really small and we have to be very aware of that.
“Winning and losing in this league and where we are today is defined by the small margins and we have to take the game where we want to win in the 95 minutes.” Following the game, the Spaniard does have some injury concerns to address though.

With that said, here’s a look a the latest injury news following the game:
Takehiro Tomiyasu
The Japan international has struggled with injuries so far this season, with both calves causing him troubles since his switch from Bologna in the summer. However, he made his long-awaited return on Saturday in the victory, coming off the bench in the final minutes.
Bukayo Saka
The 20-year-old struggled with injury during the game with United, going down twice before being substituted. He appeared to be pointing towards the top of his leg as he came off, though there is no indication as to how severe it is.
What Arteta has said: “Bukayo was struggling even to start the match, but he really wanted to do it. He had a big knock the other night, but at some stage he was struggling. Let’s see how he is.”

Thomas Partey
Partey picked up a thigh injury against Crystal Palace earlier this month and Arteta’s latest comments suggest that the Ghanaian international could be ruled out of action for the rest of the season.
What Arteta has said: “Yes, the news that we got after a lot of assessments is not great. It’s not looking very positive for his availability this season, but we’ll have to wait and see because he’s trying to get back as quickly as possible, but at the moment we are not very optimistic about it.”

Alexandre Lacazette
The striker had suffered from a Covid infection recently, but managed to test negative since. He was involved in the squad for the Chelsea game, and appeared from the bench late on.
The Frenchman is working his way back to full fitness and was part of the squad for the game against the Red Devils.
What Arteta has said: “He trained yesterday, and hopefully, he will be feeling (better) today. So after Covid, we have players that struggled for weeks, others that have recovered quicker. Let’s see, but obviously, he’s a player that we need, contributing and being at his best. Hopefully, he can recover quickly.”
Kieran Tierney
Scotland international Tierney is expected to miss the rest of the season having undergone surgery for a serious knee injury.
What Arteta has said: “The feeling that he had wasn’t positive and what the scans showed either. But we have to wait and see what happens.”
