Barking stabbing: Live updates from East London as man rushed to hospital after being knifed on busy road in broad daylight

A 46-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight on a busy East London street. Police and ambulance services were called to the scene on Upney Lane in Barking at 1.21pm earlier today (Saturday, April 23) following reports of a stabbing.

The victim was taken to a south London hospital, though we are still waiting for an update on his condition. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and they remain in custody.

Witnesses on social media reported seeing an air ambulance arriving in Barking Park following the attack to attend to the victim. One also described seeing an individual “covered in blood” and added that the area surrounding Faircross Post Office has been cordoned off by police.
