Highly addictive and up to 100 times more powerful than morphine, fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that has been implicated in recent years in the opioid drug crisis that has swept Ontario and the rest of the country. Fentanyl can prove fatal to unsuspecting drug users who are unaware the street drugs they’ve purchased are tainted with the far more powerful opioid.
