A young boy has been left in a coma after sustaining a brain injury in a “freak accident”.
The family of Archie Battersbee, 12, are sitting by his bedside at the Royal London Hospital hoping he’ll pull through after a “tragic accident” at home.
A GoFundMe has been launched to help the youngster’s devastated family and to give them financial peace of mind at such a difficult time.
Claire Howes, who started the page, wrote: “Archie is one special little boy who currently lies in a coma in Royal London hospital, after a tragic accident.
“Archie’s family wait eagerly at his bedside for him to pull through and get better.
“Come on Archie, you can do this darling!! Fight little man FIGHT! We are all there for you x”.

“Allowing Archie’s family peace of mind and financial support.
“During this tragic time help and support them if they need it with hotels, fuel, food and more importantly a dream come true for Archie when he pulls through.

His mum Hollie Dance, 46, explained to the Echo it was a “freak accident which resulted in a brain injury.”
Hollie – who said she is “just reliving it [the accident] constantly” – said the past week has also been unbearable for Archie’s siblings, Tom and Lauren.
The 46-year-old said she is holding on to hope after doctors said the youngster hasn’t been responding to treatment.
While Hollie believes the lad needs “a bit of time”, she still doesn’t know the extent of his injuries.
She said the local community and their prayers have been keeping her going at such a difficult time.
Archie’s friends from his MMA and gymnastics clubs have been leaving voice messages of support, she added.
She said: “It feels like the whole of Southend is with him.”
