Tiny 1-bed London property that ‘looks like a shed’ has £50k slashed off price £430k price tag after going unsold for 2 months

A London home has once again come under the spotlight as it’s price has been reduced by £50,000 in two months. It seems that Londoners weren’t convinced by the quirky property that was previously likened to a “garden shed”. The East London home is moments away from trendy Victoria Park but still can’t be sold and has now reduced its price to attract buyers.

The property is small and all corners of the one bedroom house are used up to maximise space. Better suited to George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces , it remains listed by Foxtons estate agents. It was listed originally for £429,950 and is now £380,000.

It is described by Foxtons on Zoopla as: “An amazing one-bedroom flat boasting bright and contemporary accommodation throughout and a quiet location moments from Victoria Park. The property is situated moments from a range of shops and amenities that can be found at the Victoria Park Village in Hackney while the green expanses of Victoria Park are only a short distance away.”

The small East London house has been made so that all space is used up

When it was first put on to the market, there was outrage from Londoners about how much the house cost. It was labelled “absurd” and “complete madness” that the “garden shed” was on sale for such a high price. It now seems this opinion is shared by any prospective buyers as the property is yet to be snapped up.

The home was listed for £429,950 in January and boasts an open-plan kitchen and reception, with a bathroom on the ground floor and a bedroom on the raised first floor. Every inch of space in this pint-sized home has been used thoughtfully, with stylish shelves, seamless worktops and a bed that fits snugly into the property’s design.

The house is in a desirable location near Victoria Park

It is grey in colour and decorated with garden plants. It could have been taken out of an Ikea store and is maybe a bit smaller than a typical showroom in the Swedish homeware shop. Despite the obvious lack of space its location is often sought after.

The areas surrounding Victoria Park are considered highly desirable for homeowners, with a number of schools nearby (although fitting a child into this house may be a push) and many independent shops, pubs and restaurants. In fact, in 2020 Victoria Park was named as one of the best places to live in London by The Times .

The house is now on the market for £380,000, a £49,950 reduction.
