Two men remain in hospital following an attack in Southampton over the weekend. HampshireLive previously reported a 21-year-old man from London, who remains in hospital, suffered potentially life-changing injuries during the incident in Above Bar Street around 4am on Sunday (April 10).

Three people were arrested by Hampshire Police on suspicion of attempted murder, including a 19-year-old man from Fareham who remains in hospital after suffering a stab wound. He will be questioned when he is discharged.

Another of the three people arrested, a 21-year-old man from Southampton, also suffered a stab wound but has been questioned by officers and released under investigation. A previous update from Hampshire Police revealed that a 17-year-old boy from Winchester, who was arrested on both suspicion of attempted murder and on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, had been released under investigation.

A large cordon was put in place on Sunday morning to allow officers to carry out important early investigative enquiries. Above Bar Street between A3024 Cumberland Place and Commercial Road was shut off, with bus routes in the area affected.
