A 19-year-old man has been named locally following a fatal crash involving five men in the early hours of Wednesday morning (April 6). Navid Babul was reportedly attending evening prayer at an East London mosque before the fatal collision. Two men have been arrested after the crash in East Sussex, which happened shortly before 2am.

As well as Navid, another two of men were rushed to a hospital, including a 20-year-old man who was airlifted by helicopter with life-threatening injuries, while a 19-year-old was taken to the hospital by paramedics in a serious condition. Friends of the family said that Navid had attended Baitul Aman Mosque on Roman Road, Bethnal Green, for Ramadan.

This is said to have finished at around 11.30pm when Navid and four friends, who were also at the mosque, went for a long drive. Navid, a British Bangladeshi, was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and hit his head during the crash.
