Welsh health board announces its emergency departments are under ‘extreme pressure’
A Welsh health board has announced that its emergency departments are under extreme pressure – as the NHS faces high winter demand, backlog of cases and staff absence with continued Covid disruption.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board confirmed on Tuesday that three of its Emergency Departments were under “extreme pressure” and were “exceptionally busy”.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, the health board said: “Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed that three of its Emergency Departments are under extreme pressure and are exceptionally busy at the moment. We are asking the public to only attend if absolutely necessary in a serious or life-threatening emergency.”
