Manchester United’s search for a new manager will continue today after the club ramped up their recruitment process this week.
MEN Sport understands that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag was interviewed for the vacant managerial role at the beginning of the week as United’s board make a concerted effort to find their next head coach during the international break. It is thought that Ten Hag is the club’s preferred choice.
United are still unwilling to rule out other potential candidates for the position. Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be a viable alternative and he could leave PSG in the summer.
Elsewhere Luke Shaw grabbed headlines on Saturday evening as he scored in England’s 2-1 victory over Switzerland at Wembley Stadium. His stunning strike just before half time brought the Three Lions level as the players looked to impress before the winter World Cup in Qatar. Post-match, Shaw gave an indication of his unhappiness at the current situation at United.
