Edinburgh only location outside London selling ‘hottest watch on the planet’

The ‘hottest watch on the planet’ right now is available in four stores across the UK, with Edinburgh being one of them.

Swatch and Omega have collaborated to bring customers the impressive Moonswatch, available for a bargain price of £207 and only available in stores.

Going on sale from March 26, three stores in London and one in Edinburgh will be the only stores throughout the UK selling the watches for a cut-price fee.

Expected to see customers queuing round the block for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the Moonswatch is available in a number of colours, resembling the different colours of all the planets within the solar system.

The watches are also expected to hold on to their value and make for cracking resale items in the market further down the line.

As well as representing different planets with the colours of the watches, each variant is named after a planet, with the moon and sun also being featured.

Swatch and Omega have come together for the innovative take on the ‘legendary’ Speedmaster Moonwatch and the new collection of eleven Moonswatches are hoping to send people “reaching for the stars.”

The ‘Neptune’ Moonswatch

The watches are advertised and previewed on the Swatch website and they add: “Outer space inspires a new collection of eleven BIOCERAMIC watches named after planetary bodies that will have you reaching for the stars.

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch is legendary and a must-have for collectors. BIOCERAMIC Moon-Swatch collection makes the iconic design accessible to fans everywhere.”

Edinburgh’s Swatch store on Princes Street will be selling the watches from March 26, whilst stock lasts.

The team at Swatch and Omega added: “These playful tributes to the planets celebrate the collaboration between the plucky company that saved the Swiss Watchmaking industry and the iconic maker of the Speedmaster Moonwatch. What takes this collection into orbit is the fusion of the most innovative Swatch BIOCERAMIC material with the key Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch design elements.

“There’s the asymmetrical case, the iconic ‘dot over ninety’ on the tachymeter scale and the distinctive Speedmaster subdials.

“All dials feature the OMEGA X SWATCH branding, the iconic Speedmaster logo and the new MoonSwatch logo. A closer look at the glass construction reveals the “hidden” ‘S’ integrated in the centre of the crystal. The circular pattern on the dial’s outer ring and subdials brings a refined touch to the design, complementing the sharp and smooth lugs construction.

“The hours, minutes, chronograph seconds hands and hour markers sport Super-LumiNova for a perfect glow in the dark. The caseback on each BIOCERAMIC MOONSWATCH is printed with the mission text and features intergated wording sure to inspire. “DREAM BIG – FLY HIGH – EXPLORE THE UNIVERSE – REACH FOR THE PLANETS.”

Every battery cover on the back has an image of the planetary body that inspires the design.
