Serial parcel thief from West London jailed after stealing multiple parcels from the same street

A West London thief has been jailed for stealing multiple parcels from the same street over a two month period. He took the parcels from several addresses in Hounslow and stole six different packages just before the Christmas period last year. Marcin Piekarski, 41, of no fixed abode was jailed and fined for the burglaries at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.

Piekarski was arrested after police were called to investigate multiple thefts from properties on Selbourne Avenue, Hounslow. Three parcels were stolen from the communal area of a block of flats. The thefts happened over a two month period with three parcels being stolen in November and then another three from the same street on December 7.

Officers from Hounslow Central Neighbourhood Policing Team were able to link Piekarski to all the thefts through extensive reviews of CCTV. Enquiries into the string of burglaries led police to Piekarski. When he was arrested for the offences he admitted in interview that he was responsible for the two-month burgling spree.

On Tuesday, March 8 he pleaded guilty to all six burglaries and was sentenced to 24 weeks imprisonment and fined £128.

PC Dan Cheeseman, dedicated ward officer for Hounslow Central said “Burglary is a concern to our residents and affects many people in different ways especially as the person has entered your property without permission. Following CCTV enquiries and using our local knowledge we have managed to get a good sentence and given a clear message to criminals wishing to commit this type of crime”.
