A40 Greenford crash live: Updates as lorry carrying potatoes crashes into Ealing home

A lorry carrying potatoes has crashed into a home in West London this evening (March 21).

Images posted to social media show emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, at the incident in Greenford where hundreds of potatoes have spilled out of the vehicle after it came off the A40.

The crash took place on a residential stretch of the road with the lorry travelling eastbound at around 7pm.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed there were no reports of any serious injuries and work is “ongoing” to recover the vehicles involved in the crash.

A spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 19:00hrs on Monday, 21 March to reports of a lorry and car in collision on the A40 in Greenford. No reports of any serious injuries. Work is ongoing to recover the vehicles. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

London Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
