Two boys were stabbed yesterday afternoon (February 22) and are currently in hospital. A 14-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after a stabbing in Ilford, while a 15-year-old boy turned up at a North East London hospital with a stab injury later in the evening.
Emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing on Barkingside High Street at around 4.10pm yesterday. The Met Police and London Ambulance Service, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene, where the 14-year-old boy was treated. He was then taken to a major trauma centre, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Later in the evening, a 15-year-old boy with a stab injury turned up at a north-east London hospital, where his condition has been assessed as not life-threatening.
Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently in police custody. A number of crime scenes were in place but are now closed.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called at around 4.10pm on Tuesday, February 22, to reports of a male stabbed on Barkingside High Street. Officers attended along with LAS. A 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital – his condition is being treated as serious but stable.
“Later in the evening a 15-year-old boy presented to a north-east London hospital with a stab injury. His condition is not life-threatening.
“Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently in police custody. A number of crime scenes were in place but have now been closed.”
