A hugely dramatic Thursday night saw West Ham progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a 2-0 victory over Sevilla.

Ukrainian Andriy Yarmolenko netted an extra-time winner to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory, sparking emotional scenes at the London Stadium.

In the Premier League, Everton claimed a priceless 1-0 victory over Newcastle in the ninth minute of stoppage-time, with Toffees boss Frank Lampard breaking his hand while celebrating the winner.

The match was bizarrely halted for eight minutes after a protester, who has subsequently been arrested, tied himself to the goalpost.
