Despite a spirited display, Arsenal ultimately came away from their clash with Liverpool empty-handed on Wednesday night. Two second-half goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino were the difference, leaving the race for the top four hanging in the balance.
But will have once again been encouraged with what he saw from his side, particularly in the first half. Part of him will have been fearful of a repeat of the 4-0 suffered at Anfield but there were significant signs of improvement at the Emirates.
