A11 Mile End Road in Tower Hamlets reopens after police incident – recap

The A11 Mile End Road has reopened on Tuesday morning having been closed in both directions in Tower Hamlets due to a reported police incident. Travel service Inrix reported shortly before midnight on Monday that a closure was in place from the B120 Globe Road to Cephas Avenue.

The section of road that was shut is outside Stepney Green Underground station. An update on Inrix said: “A11 Mile End Road in both directions closed due to police incident from B120 Globe Road (Stepney Green Station) to Cephas Avenue. Diversion – for five bus routes.”

Motorists had advised to seek an alternative route for the time being. Inrix reported shortly before 3am on Tuesday morning that the road was reopened in both directions.
