Police have charged a man with the murder of 20-year-old Jamie Gibley. Dejour Jones, 24, was charged on Friday (March 4). The body of the Crystal Palace man was recovered on Tuesday (March 7) near a lake in South Norwood by Metropolitan Police.
Police erected a tent on Cantley Gardens, in South Norwood, and forensics teams remain on site. Police say the family of Mr Gilbey have been made aware but police have yet to confirm the identity of the body.

He went missing on January 27 and was wanted in connection with an armed robbery. A month later, “suspicious items” were found in the park close to Love Lane prompting a murder investigation as police believed Jamie may have come to some harm.
Jones, of no fixed address, appeared in Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday (March 7), where he was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on May 24.
