The Eagles were good value for their clean sheet against a wasteful City who spurned several chances to take the lead in south London at the vital moment.
Palace tried to counter-attack and snatch a goal whenever they could but couldn’t always fashion chances against a City side packed with quality across the pitch.
Nevertheless, Vieira’s side have now registered clean sheets in successive games and have forced the Premier League title race wide open with City’s lead at the top cut to four points.
