Boy, 16, dies horrific bus stabbing plus police oust squatters from oligarch’s mansion

A teenager has died after being stabbed on a bus and police moved in to remove squatters from an oligarch’s Belgravia mansion as Monday came to a close. Protesters had taken over the house in Belgrave Square, SW1, at about 1am yesterday and spent much of the day in a standoff with the Met.

The property is understood to be owned by Oleg Deripaska. A video filmed by the squatters and posted on Twitter showed lavish interiors including expensive artwork and a grand piano. Protesters were heard shouting “We don’t care if we get arrested”.

Riot police were on scene all day and just after 8pm the police confirmed that four people who had been squatting in the house were arrested. The group said that there was more to come and promised a “summer of anarchy”. The Met’s response to the protest has been criticised online.
