The most dangerous places to live in Southwark according to the latest police statistics

The most dangerous areas of the London borough of Southwark have been revealed, thanks to new data compiled by the Metropolitan Police. The Met’s website regularly publishes stats for theft and harassment in areas across London, and in Southwark over 500 incidents were recorded in February 2022.

MyLondon looked at police data from 13 areas within Southwark, and below you’ll find the five most dangerous, ordered by recorded incidents of miscellaneous theft, theft from a person, and harassment. We have also ordered all 13 areas that fall within the borough.

5) St George’s – 52

There were 52 reports of theft and harassment in St George’s in February

The fifth most dangerous area in Southwark was found to be St George’s, located within the district of Elephant & Castle. The stats reveal 26 incidents of miscellaneous theft were recorded in the borough last month, along with 16 thefts from a person and 10 cases of harassment.

4) Rye Lane – 54

54 incidents of theft or harassment were recorded in Rye Lane in Peckham last month

Just edging past Elephant and Castle we have Peckham, where a total of 54 incidents were recorded. Of those 20 were miscellaneous theft, 19 were thefts from a person, and 15 were cases of harassment.

3) Old Kent Road – 55

There were 15 reports of harassment in the Old Kent Road area last month

Old Kent Road, which links multiple South London areas together, including Bermondsey and Elephant & Castle, accounted for 55 of the thefts and harassment cases recorded in Southwark last month. 40 thefts were recorded in total, along with 15 cases of harassment.

2) Camberwell Green – 55

Camberwell Green was revealed to be the second most dangerous area in Southwark

Camberwell Green (the area suggested by the website’s search engine when we input ‘Camberwell’) proved to be the second most dangerous area. Of the 55 incidents recorded last month, 43 were thefts, while 12 were cases of harassment.

1) Borough and Bankside – 97

Borugh and Bankside was revealed to be the most dangerous area of the borough

By far the most dangerous area, however, was the district of Borough and Bankside, which accounted for 97 crime incidents recorded in February. Borough and Bankside encompassed one of the largest areas suggested by the search engine, but the data revealed 45 incidents of miscellaneous theft, 31 thefts from a person, and 21 incidents of harassment.
