According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici over potentially replacing Leonardo Araujo as the club’s sporting director.

Paratici was appointed at the helm at Spurs just last summer and the Italian has certainly had an eventful first season in North London.

TMW have now claimed that Leonardo’s position at PSG is now under threat after the Ligue 1 giants’ elimination from the Champions League.

The club owner Nasser A-Khelaifi allegedly wishes to start a new cycle in Paris and is looking for a new sporting director to replace Leanardo.

Paratici is thought to be one of the names on the French club’s radar and it is asserted that PSG’s top brass have already contacted the Spurs man.

It is explained that the Ligue 1 club want to understand what the Italian’s relationship with Daniel Levy is like and explore whether it would be possible to poach him.

However, TMW go on to explain that PSG have not had any ‘in-depth’ conversations with Paratici at the moment and Tottenham’s managing director remains intent on building an ‘important’ project with Antonio Conte in North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Paratici is likely to walk away from the Spurs project so soon after joining. Executives like hum often have different motivations to players or managers and I suspect that the 49-year-old will be keen on leaving his mark on Spurs, particularly given that he has managed to persuade Antonio Conte to take the job.
