Lorraine Kelly has been a familiar face on daytime television for nearly 40 years. The ITV chat show host who is not afraid to speak her mind even rejected a space at university to work her way up in the journalism and TV industry – and it looks like that worked out pretty well.
She regularly interviews some of Britain’s most famous people, as well as Hollywood A-Listers from around the world, from Dame Helen Mirren to Tom Hanks and Hugh Jackman. But what about the star’s life away from television screens?

Despite Lorraine being one of the nation’s most recognised faces on daytime television, her private life remains very private for the most part. The ITV star, 62, has been married for 30 years to her husband Steve Smith, who is also her former co-star.
The pair met while Lorraine was working on TV-am between 1984 and 1993. Hubby Steve also worked on the set as a cameraman. They tied the know on in September 1992, and Lorraine has often spoken out about her big day.
She admits that she regrets is her choice of wedding dress, Hello! reported. She said: “At my wedding, it was such a small one, it was wee, it really was.
“All I wanted was men in kilts and pipers. There was no real plan. It was very, very traditional. My dress… uyuy-yuy. It was 1992 so it was kind of like a Princess Diana bouffant thing with big sleeves – oh God. We could all get in it! We could all fit in my dress. I’ve still got it.”

Lorraine has also previously shared her secrets to a happy marriage, telling MailOnline: “I say don’t take each other for granted and make each other laugh.” Lorraine and Steve have one daughter, Rosie, who was born in 1994.
Lorraine fell pregnant a second time, but sadly it ended in a miscarriage in 2001. She previously opened up about her experiences on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, telling the host: “That was a really difficult time and I think yes of course we should absolutely sympathise with the women who go through this but nobody asked after Steve.
“Nobody ever said, ‘how are you?’ The only people who did, funnily enough, were friends that experienced it themselves and sadly as we know, far too many people experience it. I think we’ve got to be a bit more considerate about everyone and not just partners but extended family.”
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the ITV breakfast show host is worth £4.6 million. Lorraine’s show of the same name airs at 9am on weekdays on ITV.
