Inside Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor’s new London house

Millie Mackintosh has opened the doors to her stunning new family home.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 32, moved from her Chelsea, London terrace to a near-identical house with husband Hugo Taylor, 35 and their two young daughters Sienna, two, and Aurelia, 14 weeks, last month.

Revealing that the family of four ‘needed more space’, Millie has flung the doors open to the stunning new abode on Instagram.

Moving on! Millie Mackintosh has opened the doors to her stunning new family home, after moving from her London terrace to a near-identical house with husband Hugo Taylor, 35 and their two young daughters Sienna, two, and Aurelia, 14 weeks

Millie explained to her 1.4million followers that the family were in desperate need of more room after the arrival of their second daughter so decided to up sticks and move nearby to a slightly bigger house, just two years after buying their previous home.

The star hasn’t specified where they have moved to, but it’s doubtful it will be too far from their previous Chelsea abode. Before the arrival of their daughters, the couple lived in a smaller flat together in West London – a location they moved into in around early 2017.

The new home features a basement, giving the family extra living space, but aside from the new room Millie has admitted the house is a carbon copy of their old home.

Sharing a look at her stunning kitchen last month, Millie showed off the room’s identical layout to the kitchen in her previous home, confessing it was ‘Same, but different! So yes my new kitchen is VERY similar to my old one, in fact the whole house is very similar.’

‘We moved into the same style property as our old house, this one is just bigger to give us that extra space we desperately needed. It’s basically the same house but with a basement!’

While Millie and Hugo opted for dark navy cabinets in their old kitchen, they’ve brightened up the colour palette in their new room, with a fresh, sage green and white theme teamed with marble worktops.

‘I wanted the kitchen to feel open, airy and bright,’ Millie told her followers, gushing that the antique mirror used as a splash back behind the oven is her favourite feature of the room.

Beyond the kitchen is a dining area, with a herringbone oak dining table and chairs and bronze accents, which Millie gushed makes it ‘feel a bit like a Mediterranean villa’.

The kitchen diner overlooks the small patio garden, with Crittall doors giving a view of the outdoor space, where Millie has bought the inside out, creating another living space with luxury garden furniture dotted around the sun trap.

Upstairs Millie has worked hard on her girls’ rooms, recently giving a tour of Aurelia’s Nursery. ‘Your baby’s nursery is such a special space for bonding and spending one on one time together. I wanted to create a calm and warming environment and I think we got the perfect balance by pairing functional, elegant furniture with soft accessories and beautiful decor,’ the doting mum explained.

The stunning room features a calming, white and grey wallpaper with white furniture including a cosy nursing chair in the corner, placed under a statement feather lamp.

Sienna meanwhile has her first ‘big girl’s room’, with Millie explaining: ‘I wanted something that was whimsical and feminine but also a little fun!’ for her eldest.

The star worked with interior designer Joanna Landais after feeling ‘overwhelmed’ with the design process.

‘I wanted Sienna’s room to be something that worked for her now but that would also grow with her (not something we would need to redecorate in a years time!) and I think we have really found the balance,’ said Millie.

The finished room features different shades of pink and a mix of textiles in the cushions and stunning canopy draped over the toddler’s cot.

Finishing touches include a book and toy shelf to display Sienna’s favourite reads and dolls, alongside a dream doll’s house.

The key difference between the family’s old house and new is the basement, which the couple have already given a stunning makeover to, turning it into a cinema room.

‘I was so excited that our new house had a basement as it’s perfect for the cinema room we’ve always wanted!’ Millie told her fans last week.

‘When designing the space I wanted it to feel really warm and cosy making it the perfect place to spend a date night at home or rainy afternoon watching disney movies with the girls.’

Panelled walls have made the room extra cost, with Millie and Hugo choosing a deep shade of blue to give the space an ‘old 1920’s cinema’ vibe.

The main piece of furniture in the room is a huge bespoke mustard yellow sofa, perfect for the whole family to snuggle up on.

‘I introduced print through the ottoman, which also doubles up as storage – winner! I wanted lots of cushions for ultimate comfort and I picked out a couple of the colours from the ottoman, so it all ties in nicely, Millie added of her finishing touches, also revealing that she plans to decorate with movie posters on the wall.
