BREAKING: Security alert halts This Morning and Loose Women

BREAKING: Security alert halts This Morning and Loose Women.

BREAKING NEWS – A security alert brought the live version of This Morning to a screeching halt, while the popular show Loose Women has now been replaced with a pre-recorded broadcast.

A security alert at Wood Lane station in London, located directly opposite the show’s Television Centre studios, meant that This Morning, which was being filmed live, was switched to a pre-recorded “best bits” version of the show, while the incident across the road continues to be dealt with.

A tweet from Transport for London read: “White City and Wood Lane stations closed: While the police respond to a security alert outside the station.”

Shortly after returning from a break, This Morning presenter, Phillip Scofield, told viewers: “Welcome to This Morning. As we can’t be with you live today we have lined up some of our best bits to enjoy.”

Twitter users questioned where the live show went: “What has happened? Has a recorded show started or am I going mad!?” one person wrote.

As per the Sun, the Television Centre was evacuated, with all live shows transferred to pre-recorded compilations, essentially taking ITV off air.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police reads: “At 11:14hrs on Thursday, 10 March, police were called to reports of a security alert at Wood Lane, White City. It was reported a suspicious item had been discovered.

“The area was evacuated as a precaution and White City and Wood Lane tube stations were temporarily closed. The incident was stood down shortly before 12:49hrs. An investigation is ongoing.”

This Morning started as normal with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Scofield working their way through the show, however, on returning from a break, a pre-recorded clip, which is used in case of an emergency, began to run.

Another person noted that another popular ITV show has been affected: “Loose Women now off air too.”

This Morning addressed the show being off air in a tweet.

“We apologise for the break in live programming today. We are currently running pre-recorded content and hope to be back with you soon,” they said in a post online, whilst Loose Women posted the same message on their social media channels, as noted by the Mirror.
