Ilford: Recap after person on tracks between Stratford and Seven Kings disrupted trains

Emergency services responded to a man on the tracks between Stratford and Seven Kings this afternoon (Wednesday, March 9).

Greater Anglia reported that a person had been hit by a train, but EssexLives understands that they were not struck.

British Transport Police has confirmed that the person is not believed to have suffered life-changing or threatening injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Ilford station at 1.50pm today (9 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended and a person was taken to hospital for assessment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

London Ambulance Service said in a statement that they treated a man at the scene before taking him to hospital.

The incident caused disruption, delays and cancellations to Greater Anglia services.
