Everton clash v Tottenham predicted by Stan Collymore

Stan Collymore predicts Tottenham to win against Everton when the two sides meet in North London on Monday night.

Everton will go into their trip to the capital having won just two of their last 18 Premier League fixtures.

While Frank Lampard’s side does have plenty of games in hand, only one point separates the Blues and the relegation zone.

Spurs, on the other hand, are in a mixed run of form but Harry Kane and Heung-min Son have started doing well in the attack alongside each other.

And Collymore expects both of them to be on fire again on Monday night with the ex-Liverpool forward predicting a 2-1 win for Tottenham.

“It’s a revitalising but still a little hit-and-miss Spurs against a revitalised and but still a little hit-and-miss Everton, and I’m backing Harry Kane and Heung-min Son to settle matters,” said Collymore while writing in The People [6 March, page 58].

Tough game

There’s no denying that despite Tottenham’s form being so up-and-down, this is a very tough game for Everton.

Honestly, we’re not expecting much out of the trip to North London, especially with Kane and Son in such good form in the attack.

Everton’s performance against Manchester City last week was a lot better but ultimately, we still lost the game on a day where Pep Guardiola’s men were not exactly at the races.

We’re just hoping that playing well and losing the game won’t knock the stuffing out of the players too badly because we can understand why something like that would be so demoralising.

Everton are in a mess right now and unless we start winning soon, we could actually be in the relegation zone.

Luckily, we have those games in hands, there are some decent fixtures on the horizon and the three teams below us are dropping points again.

The Toffees might be able to afford to lose this game. Obviously, we don’t want that to happen. But we have to be realistic and admit that there’s a good chance Collymore’s prediction will turn out to be right.
