Croydon live: Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car

A woman has been rushed to hospital in Croydon after being hit by a car, authorities have confirmed.

Police said they were called at around 4:25pm on Saturday (5 March) to “reports of a car in collision with a female pedestrian in Rectory Grove, Croydon.”

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended – the woman has been taken to hospital for treatment; condition awaits.”

They said that the car stopped at the scene and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

The A236 Roman Way in Croydon is blocked with traffic queuing following the incident between A323 Duppas Hill Road and Croydon Minster.
