Police manhunt after woman killed in her north London home

Shane Sheriden, 31, has not been seen 58-year-old Susan Ioannou’s body was found with fatal injuries in Church Street, Enfield about 8.30pm on February 21.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard took the unusual step on Friday of releasing an image of Sheriden. Officers urged the public not to approach him but to dial 999.

Sheriden has a British Bulldog tattoo on his right arm and links to Edmonton.

A woman, 23, and a 61-year-old man, from north London, have been charged with Mrs Ioannou’s murder.

Both appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court and were remanded into custody on Monday.

Mrs Ioannou’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A post-mortem examination carried out on February 22 was unable to determine her cause of death. Further enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood, leading the murder probe, said: “I am appealing to the public for any information that could help us locate Shane Sheriden as we continue to investigate the circumstances of Susan’s murder.

“If you know where Sheriden is or have information about his whereabouts then please get in touch.

“Given the serious nature of the crime we are investigating, I would ask members of the public not to approach Sheriden if you see him but to dial 999 immediately.”
