We’ll be bringing you the latest updates as a fire has broken on Briardale Road, near to Penny Lane.
The fire, which is believed to be at a house, is close to the railway line between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe.
The blaze has sent smoke billowing into the air and onto the nearby train tracks.
It is being reported that overhead train lines have been switched off due to the fire and this is causing travel disruption and train cancellations.
Services are suspended on Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe.
Transport for Wales between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester due to lineside fire.
A Northern Rail spokesperson tweeted: “Due to a fire near the railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road the line is blocked
“Services will be cancelled or delayed. All stations between Warrington Central and Mossley Hill will not be served.”
