Channel 4 Grand Designs: Viewers in hysterics at ‘tasteless’ decor of house that was styled pre Covid

Hear ye, hear ye: It’s just gone 10pm and Channel 4’s Grand Designs has just finished. You could go to bed, but why sleep when you can revel in the reactions to the latest home makeover on the extravagant property show.

Thankfully you’ve come to the right place, as tonight’s show was a good’un, and the makeover of the house featured in the show was a divisive one among fans. Said fans took to Twitter to share their views – and oh boy were they opinionated about it.

As the discourse erupted like that fateful day in Rome, and the Vesuvius of hot takes spewed tweets upon the timeline, the pervading opinion was that the house did not end up looking very good.

One viewer said: “They have the passion, but they have no taste.”

Another tweeted: “Every time a piece of timber is removed you can hear a little bit of Kevin’s soul die… Priceless!”

A third added: “Why wouldn’t you make a feature of the millstone floor?!”

Some viewers pointed out that, given the episode was filmed pre-March lockdown, the couple had a nasty surprise coming when Covid came knocking.

One viewer said: “Well you have to admire them for taking on this project. But I think they will be living in the caravan longer than they think.”
