Gants Hill police incident live: Met called to Ilford ‘stabbing’ but find man ‘hit by a car’ 4 miles away

Police were called to reports of a stabbing and a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Gants Hill this evening (February 22).

Officers were called to Bramley Crescent at 8.36pm but when they arrived they didn’t find any victims or suspects, although there were signs of a disturbance.

Shortly after 9pm, officers were alerted to a person injured four miles away in Boundary Lane, Newham.

Officers and paramedics attended and found a man, believed to be in his early 20s, with a lower limb injury consistent with being involved in a road traffic collision.

Police say initial enquiries suggest the man may have been injured in the earlier incident.

He has been taken to an West London hospital where police await an update on his condition.

Crime scenes and local road closures are in place at both locations.
