Breaking: Jack Wilshere completes transfer after training with Arsenal

Jack Wilshere is on the verge of signing for Danish club Aarhus Gymnastikforening, according to reports.

Aarhus Gymnastikforening, also known as AGF, are expected to sign Wilshere on a free transfer, according to Arhus Stiftstidende.

The Danes posted a tweet on their official Twitter account, where they teased their supporters with a new signing on their way and it is expected to be the former Arsenal star.

The 30-year-old reportedly passed a medical with the Danish club on Sunday and has ‘signed the last details’ on a contract.

Wilshere, who has been training with Arsenal while he searches for a new club, is expected to wear the number 10 jersey at AGF.

The former England international has been without a club since being released by AFC Bournemouth last summer, with his contract down on the south coast expiring.

There were some rumours and calls for Arsenal to re-sign Wilshere over the January transfer window, with Mikel Arteta desperate to sign a new midfielder.

However, the Spaniard was quick to play down the speculation that his former team-mate would become part of his squad.

“I was very clear with the situation with Jack and the role that he was going to have being around here and we continue the same way,” Arteta said in January.

Wilshere himself had his say on the situation of potentially re-joining Arsenal, when speaking earlier this month, and revealed that Arteta “doesn’t want” him to sign a contract at the Emirates Stadium.

“Because the manager doesn’t want me to. Well, I don’t think he does,” Wilshere replied to talkSPORT when asked about why he has not re-joined Arsenal.

Asked if he could still re-join Arsenal, he responded: “I don’t know that. I would love it to be Arsenal. But I am not in control of that.”
