This week chefs and foodies were put out of their misery when the Michelin Guide 2022 was finally unveiled.

The eagerly-anticipated list is released annually and showcases some of the best restaurants in the UK.

The prestigious award first started in 1900, and recognises the excellence of an establishment – each star often signifying decades of dedication and craft.

The plates are often flamboyant, with flashy set menus and obscure ingredients — but not all featured restaurants are out of touch or marked at ridiculous prices, the Mirror reports.
