Where is 24 Hours in A&E filmed?

24 Hours in A&E is filmed in St George’s Hospital. This is a teaching hospital in Tooting, South West London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in the world as it sees an average of 350 patients per day.

This helps explain why it may be a popular location to film the Channel 4 series.

From severe leg fractures to a woman accidentally being run over by her husband, 24 Hours in A&E never falls short of eccentric, emotional and mindboggling stories of patients who enter the hospital’s A&E ward.

At a time when we are all particularly aware of the efforts of key workers, including NHS staff, watching the show heightens the respect for the paramedics and NHS staff under the pressure of a global pandemic.

How many series of 24 Hours in A&E are there?

There are 26 series of 24 Hours in A&E. The series initially started in 2011 and quickly became popular on Channel 4 as viewers were intrigued by the emotional stories of the different patients who would enter the A&E ward.

The 26th series began earlier this year on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, and is still currently airing every Tuesday night on Channel 4.

The show airs on Tuesday evenings at 9 pm on Channel 4.
