Police and ambulance crews are attending the incident at Two More Years in Hackney Wick.

It is not clear how many people were injured in the incident, which happened at about 4.45pm.

A man who was in the venue at the time said the mezzanine floor “came down in seconds”.

He added: “There was just this sort of cracking sort of noise and dust started coming down.

“Me and my friend just ran to the side and the whole thing just came down in a matter of seconds.”

He added it was lucky that there were not more people sitting directly under the mezzanine floor that came down.

The witness said he had seen one person being brought out on a stretcher and put into an ambulance, but most of the injured appeared to have cuts and bruises rather than anything serious.

Another bar goer tweeted: “0/10 would not recommend being on the second floor of a bar when it collapses

“I’m very much OK (as is everyone who was in the building from what I know), but that was terrifying.”

A spokesman for Met Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 16:47hrs on Saturday, 12 February, to reports of a partial building collapse at a pub on Roach Road.
