A home care provider in the South East and East London is celebrating reaching the final round of the 2022 Home Care Awards.

Three Bluebird Care offices achieved the feat of being named finalists in the awards.

The Home Care Awards provide the annual benchmark of excellence for UK organisations and businesses providing home care services.

Anoop Sekhon, director at the three Bluebird Care offices, said: “To be named as finalists for these awards is an incredible achievement. In the face of a global pandemic, everybody across our Bluebird Care offices has worked extremely hard.

“Time and time again they have gone beyond what is expected for our customers. Within every one of these branches, we have some incredible individuals and leaders, they are the true heroes.”They have remained committed and come together to deal with any challenge. Congratulations all, you deserve it.”

Bluebird Care Greenwich was shortlisted for the ‘Recruitment, Retention and Staff Motivation Expertise’ award, whilst Bluebird Care Docklands, Stratford and Wapping, and Bluebird Care Waltham Forest, were named finalists for ‘Mental Health and Dementia Care Expertise’, and ‘Response to Covid-19’ respectively.

For Bluebird Care Greenwich, their shortlisting for ‘Recruitment, Retention and Staff Motivation Expertise’ comes after another successful year. In a period of much unpredictability, the home care provider has continued to hold an impressive retention rate, with many of their team members now approaching long-term work anniversaries.

As well as this, Bluebird Care Greenwich has continued to grow, with a carefully structured recruitment process that has led to a number of new Care Assistants taking a plunge and entering the care sector over the past year.

For Bluebird Care Docklands, Stratford, and Wapping, they have been shortlisted for a very important award. Named as a finalist for their exceptional mental health and dementia care expertise, the team at the home care provider have gone above and beyond for the 46 per cent of their customers who live with these illnesses.

This feat was primarily achievable because two-thirds of their office team have attended the Dementia Friends workshop and are qualified as dementia champions, as well as many more team members holding professional qualifications that supports the provision of fantastic care to these individuals.

At Bluebird Care Waltham Forest, the team stepped up to the mark throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, going the extra mile for every single customer. As a result of their Care Assistant’s vigilance and cautiousness, since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 none of their customers have tested positive for the virus.

The offices will discover whether they have been triumphant at the award ceremony set to take place on April 1 at the National Conference Centre in Solihull.
